Prodigal Children

December 10, 2007 • 89 views • No Comments

The faintest sorrow fills my soul,

confusion amidst the pain,

I fear I’ve disobeyed my Lord

by living today in vain.

My heart seeks other lovers,

prosperity and fame,

but Thou oh Lord canst healeth me

from all my deepest shame.

I live to please you Father,

to love Thee all the more,

but when I live with idols,

it is sin that I adore.

Sin hath gaineth my attention

and falsely promised hope,

but Thou alone bring peace and love,

for these are words you spoke.

I believeth this with all my heart

although my heart is stained,

Yet your grace shall cover all my sin,

for you’ve chosen me by name.

I bow upon my trembling knees

and beg to be forgiven.

Have mercy on our souls oh Lord,

we are all prodigal children.
