Also, with Thanksgiving around the corner, Pastor Dennis Minner of the Awakening Church — literally around the corner from NYU (on MacDougal, between West 3rd and Minetta) — has extended an invitation to Seed readers to join the Awakening Church this Sunday for service and a family-style pre-Thanksgiving dinner!

Dear Fellow New Yorkers,

We want to invite you to a family style dinner this Sunday, November 23 at 6:30 PM. The night will begin featuring local musician, Shayfer James. Shayfer’s performances are unpredictable and thought provoking. He plays with his own emotions and those of his audience in a masterful game that cQQan derive total silence from any busy atmosphere. Also special guest artist, Anthony Gomez, will enlighten you with his live artwork. Anthony has been attending TAC since September and always amazes us with his artwork. In less than 10 minutes Anthony takes a blank canvas and turns it into light for the world. All first time guests will receive a free gift. The night will end with the first 75 upstairs getting a free Italian dinner.

We only ask one thing: that you bring as many friends with you as you can. We want everyone to enjoy this incredible evening together as we become a light to those in The Village and around NYC. Our hope and desire is to become a community and establish a permanent presence here in The Players Theatre. We are so excited to see TAC growing with new faces. This establishes us to begin reaching out and being a helping hand and outreach for the community around us.

We have also added weekly small groups on Monday and Wednesday evenings. We meet at various coffee houses and bars throughout the city. The last two weeks have been an amazing time to grow relationships and have open discussions about our messy spiritual lives of pursuing a better understanding of Jesus. Keep checking with the website for information on where we are meeting weekly.

If you haven’t been back in awhile, come check out The Awakening Church one more time this Sunday. We meet weekly at 6:30 pm in The Players Theatre at 115 MacDougal St. in The Village.
